College Women’s Soccer Final – Guilford 5, Chowan 1

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C.- Sarah Levitt scored a career-high three goals and an assist to lead Guilford College to its third soccer straight win, a 5-1 triumph over NCAA Division II member Chowan University Saturday. The contest in the North Carolina Wesleyan Fall Classic marked Guilford’s second in as many days with five goals in a match.

The Hawks (0-4) struck first in the fifth minute when Erica Jefferson scored on what proved Chowan’s lone shot of the game. Guilford answered with the equalizer just over five minutes later when rookie Hannah Schiltz scored off a Levitt assist. Levitt took over in the middle of the opening half, scoring three goals consecutively, two off of Jaclyn Nucci assists. Senior Kat Adams, a two-year starting goalie, scored the second goal of her career in the second half off an assist by classmate Katie Oliver.

Sophomore Abby Gove collected her first college victory in goal and Miriam Davis-Rosenbaum played the games’ final 12 minutes. Guilford outshot Chowan, 32-1.
