Women’s Volleyball: Guilford 3, Salem 0

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Guilford College’s volleyball team came out strong and claimed a 3-0 (25-10, 25-21, 25-16) win over visiting Salem College. A competitive second set saw 14 tie scores and six lead changes, but the Quakers prevailed to take the set which gave them the momentum to win the match.

Guilford (3-11) was lead by senior Mary Moody who recorded a match-high 11 kills and also added seven digs. Fellow senior Emma Gunn had seven kills on .400 hitting percentage in addition to five blocks. Taylor Whitley contributed 32 assists and three service aces for the Quakers in the win.

Randi Roppolo and Hart Wagner shared a team-high eight digs and also added six and five kills, respectively. Brittany Miller added nine digs for the Spirits (1-10).

The Quakers will travel to Hollins on Thursday (9/27) where they will look to record their first Old Dominion Athletic Conference win.
