NCFHA – Page HS vs NW Guilford

North West Guilford ” Vikings” hosted the Page ” Pirates” on senior night this evening (Tuesday) at 6:00 pm.

In a tale of two halves and a game with a nail biting finish, NWG “Vikings” won the NCFHA East Central conference title by hanging on to their early lead finishing 4-3 ahead. All the goals for NWG came in the first half. The first in the 4th minute off a field goal. Followed by goals in the 13th, 17th and 27th minutes.

The second half belonged to the Page “Pirates” who fought valiantly to get back in the game with three goals. The first goal in the 31st minute off a field goal by center Virginia Barry. A Penalty Stroke converted by Virginia Barry in the 45th minute reduced the NWG lead to 2 goals. In the 58th minute Lucy King reduced the margin for Page HS. Page fought hard for the equalizer and almost tied the game in the last minute off a strong drive by Virginia Barry that was somehow fended off by the keeper.

Other Stats:
– NWG were awarded 19 Penalty Corners and had 17 shots on goal converting 4.
Allison Lizotte, in the cage for the “Pirates” made 10 saves.
– Page HS received 11 Penalty Corners with a majority of them in the second half.
– Page HS was awarded a Penalty Stroke in the second half and had 8 shots on goal.
