Greensboro College Women’s Basketball Ranked #6 in DIII News Pre-Season Poll

(GREENSBORO, N.C.) — The Pride women’s basketball team is getting a lot of pre-season attention following a strong season last year, which included a regular season USA South Championship and a trip to the NCAA Sweet Sixteen.
As a result of Greensboro’s recent success, The Pride earned a number six ranking inthe DIII News pre-season top 25 rankings.

Greensboro returns four starters from last year’s 28-3 team, including pre-season All-American, Danielle Duncan.

The Pride are coming off of an NCAA Tournament appearance that included wins over Juniata and St. Vincent, before a loss to Chicago halted the magical run. Juniata and Chicago both made DIII News’ Top 25 as well, with Juniata coming in at 21 and Chicago at number two.

“It says alot about last year’s team, as well as the program, that we are ranked so high in the pre-season poll,” head coach Randy Tuggle stated, “We have built this program to the point that we can gain recognition in the pre-season instead of having to work for it during the year. Now we must go out and live up to those expectations.”
