Rams won, time for a honey bun, but NEG loses QB Kyle Martin for the year

From Northeast Guilford’s 35-26 win last Friday night over North Forsyth, over in Forsyth County, where the NEG Rams lost their senior quarterback for the rest of the season, with a fractured wrist……North Forsyth coach Pete Gilchrist was not a happy camper that his Viking team lost the game and they were loaded down with penalties, with 18 whistles against his club, for 227 yards…..Time to go into more detail on this Mid-Piedmont 3-A contest……

Immediately after the final horn, win or lose, the teams gather around their head coaches for brief messages.

Coach Tommy Pursley of Northeast Guilford kept his postgame speech to a minimum Friday night after his Rams held off North Forsyth 35-26 in a Mid-Piedmont 3-A game on Senior Night at Nifong-Crafford Stadium.

“Be loud, be proud and be happy,” he said.

“Be happy. You won. Now get over on that bus and get yourselves a honey bun.

“And there’d better be one left for me when I get over there.”
