CHAPEL HILL (AP) – Tyler Zeller scored 18 points to help No. 1 North Carolina beat North Carolina-Pembroke 100-58 in an exhibition Friday night.
Freshman P.J. Hairston added 17 points for the Tar Heels, who struggled early before going on a 41-6 run against the Division II Braves. Preseason Atlantic Coast Conference player of the year Harrison Barnes had 13 points, though he didn’t manage a field goal until the 14:35 mark of the second half and made just 2 of 8 shots.
Dexter Strickland tallied 13 points on 5 of 8 shooting and Reggie Bullock had 10 points and five assists.
Greensboro’s David Dupont(Grimsley HS) saw two minutes of action for the Tar Heels…..

Dudley had anoher player out there on the court that night. It was UNC Pembroke starting point guard Marcus Heath. Marcus was a senior at Dudley PJ’s freshmen year. Inside Carolina has a great picture of those two during the game gaurding each other.
