Power Team Sales/Greensborosports.com Player of the Week for Week #11

(Always remember our leaders at Power Team Sales with Robbie, Clark, Gary, Dan, Abbey and David and they are switching gears and really bearing down on this basketball season, at www.powerteamsales.com…..)

Got to give some big props to James Summers from Page, even though James has already been the Player of the Week once this season, he does deserve strong accolades again, for his 242 yards rushing and his one TD pass, in the Page Pirates’ win over Southeast Guilford, last Friday night….Maybe you can look at another Pirate or Pirates for the award this week, like the offensive line, they were there for James, while he was doing all that running and I heard injured lineman Kemp Young was out for the season, with his ankle being messed up….I believe Kemp might be the brother of Debs Young, who the football stadium over at Mendenhall Middle, is named for……On the subject of James Summers, it might just be me, but he really is looking a lot like Ricky Lewis Jr. did, when he led the Dudley Panthers on their run, and like Summers, Lewis was known to make things happen on the run……

From Northern Guilford, you just have to give it up one more time for T.J. Logan….Four more touchdowns last Friday night and 166 rushing yards versus what was coming in, a very tough Western Alamance squad…….Logan and Summers are locks, to be a part of any All-Guilford County backfield…….

Looking at another shot for Jamal Petty, who had 150 yards and 1 TD on the ground for the Southeast Guilford, in their loss at Page…..

Marquez Eleazor with over 100 yards rushing and a TD for the Ragsdale Tigers, in their real tight win(20-16), over High Point Central…..Germaine Pratt and Travis Dillard with interceptions for HPC and Duncan Sparks and Shariff Diaz picked off passes for Ragsdale….Garrison Herndon with two TD tosses for Ragsdale and Will Johnson with a 32-yard field goal for HPC….

David Robinson with 131 yards rushing and 1 TD for High Point Andrews, in the Red Raiders’ 55-0 victory over Wheatmore…..DJ Neal had two TD receptions in that win for HPA…….

Southern Guilford Storm and Jamie Cunningham is right back at you again….Two TD runs and one TD pass in SG’s win over Asheboro…..Malik Moseley had 168 yards rushing for SG and Cunningham went 10-19 passing for 146 yards….Southern’s defense also shined on rainy night last Friday……

RB’s Milton Walker and Devon Jones from Eastern Guilford….Both gained right at 100 yards and they each scored a touchdown, in EG’s 21-13 win over McMichael….The EG Wildcat defense held McMichael to 27 yards on 24 rushing attempts….Antonio Williams with a big interception for an EG TD….

Dudley got 104 yards passing and 2 TD strikes from junior quarterack Richard Hayes and he led the Panthers to a 12-6 win over Grimsley on a wet turf, at Jamieson Stadium…..Mr. Hayes knows the plays that pays, as in taking his team to paydirt, with just nine seconds left in the contest…..

Northeast Guilford got 126 yards and one running TD of 49 yards, from backup QB Tyrone Hammer and NEG laid the hammer down on Ledford, to win the Mid-Piedmont 3-A Conference crown….The Rams also got three quality TD’s from senior RB Jacob McCann and he was the man, again and again and again, as NEG rushed for 376 yards as a team, on the night…..

In the final ballot for the Smith Golden Eagles, Marlon Hughest ran for 172 yards and 3 TD’s and he caught 2 passes for 68 yards and one TD…..Great way for a senior to close out his career……Tevin Tatum with 18 tackles and 2 sacks for Smith in their win over Southern Alamance….
