Grimsley girls going for NCHSAA State Tennis Title on Saturday in Burlington with Henshall and Cox leading the way in

*****Great season by the young ladies from Grimsley and I have always been impressed by the hard work and determination of Roxanne Henshall at Grimsley in tennis, basketball, softball and any sport she decides to get into and the Cox family name in tennis has been a mainstay in the sport for many years….Saw the #2 single player Majdou Lavoie in the News and Record earlier this week….Great job Whirlies and best of luck in the title matches on Saturday in Burlington…..Please read below, the excellent write-up on the Whirlies from this week…..

Grimsley Girls Tennis Team advances to NCHSAA 4-A State Championship with a 6-0
semi-finals sweep on Wednesday of a tough Charlotte Myers Park team. The win was
doubly sweet for Grimsley as Myers Park had eliminated the Whirlies in the playoffs
for the past 2 seasons. Grimsley is the 2011 Metro Conference Champions. The lady
Whirlies will face Raleigh Broughton in the State Championship match on Saturday
November 5th at 10:00am at the Burlington Tennis Center.

It has been a big week for Grimsley Girls Tennis as the doubles team of Clare Cox
and Roxanne Henshall won the 4-A state doubles championship last Saturday.
