Guilford Places Four on All-ODAC Women’s Soccer Teams

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Guilford College senior Bri Eilman (Omaha, Neb./Westside (Nebraska-Lincoln)) earned Second Team All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) soccer honors for the third straight season Tuesday. Freshman Hannah Schiltz (Ashland, Mo./Southern Boone), junior Jaclyn Nucci (Gambrills, Md./South River (Anne Arundel CC), and senior Rachel Harman (Severn, Md./Old Mill (Anne Arundel CC)) represented Guilford on the Third Team All-ODAC squad. All-conference nominations and selections are made by the league’s head coaches.

Eilman, a midfielder, started 14 games of 20 games and was named Second Team All-ODAC for the third straight year. The team captain had four assists and one goal, totaling six points, which ranked seventh on the team. Eilman stands 10th among Guilford’s career leaders with 12 assists. She scored 12 career goals and 36 points in 47 matches over three seasons. Eilman was named to the 2009 Guilford Student-Athlete Honor Roll and expects to graduate with a degree in religious studies.

Schiltz, a forward, played in all of the Quakers’ 20 games, starting 19. She led Guilford with 21 points and 10 goals. One of her best games was Sept. 28 against Randolph College when she scored twice in a 3-0 win. Schiltz had five game-winning goals this year and scored at least two goals in four different games.

Harman, a defender, scored one goal in her two seasons as a Quaker. The team captain started each of Guilford’s 20 games this season and in 2010. Harman’s goal came against Sweet Briar College this year in a 6-0 Guilford shutout. She contributed to the Quakers’ school-record 1.08 goals against average. Harman intends to graduate with a degree in business management.

Nucci was a 20-game starter in her first season as a Quaker. The midfielder scored 16 points on six goals and four assists, which ranked third on the team. Nucci scored a goal in six contests, including the 7-0 Oct. 12 win over Hollins University when she recorded three points on one goal and one assist. She is also a guard/forward on the women’s basketball team this season.

Coach Eric Lewis’ Quakers ended the season with a 10-8-2 record, 5-4-2 in the ODAC. Guilford won its most games since 2006 and reached the ODAC Tournament for the 20th straight season. Lewis expects 21 letter winners to return in 2011, including Schiltz and Nucci.
