Greensboro College Men’s Basketball Hammers Johnson & Wales, 111-71

The Pride men’s basketball team rolled to a 40-point road victory over Johnson & Wales on Saturday. The 111-71 win marked the largest margin of victory this season for Greensboro as well as the first time eclipsing the century barrier in scoring.

The Pride got to work immediately in this one and took a commanding 55-32 lead into the halftime break. Greensboro’s defense hounded the Wildcats of Johnson & Wales all day, forcing numerous turnovers that resulted in easy transition points.

Pacing The Pride was T.J. Holman with 23 points. Luqman Tijani added 18, while Damian Dixon, Brock Mooreman and Brian Thomas each had 12. In total, 13 players reached the scoring column for Greensboro.

Saturday’s game was a rematch of the November 15 season opener for The Pride, a 96-71 home win. Greensboro is now 5-3 on the season and will travel to Covenant on Monday at 2 p.m. for its final game before the holiday break.
