River Mill defeated 1st Colonial 61-55 in the first round of the ESPN/Boo Williams Christmas Classic.
The contest was a close on throughout. River Mill had a two point advantage at the end of the first quarter, but trailed by two at intermission.
First Colonial built a five point lead by the end of the third stanza, but the Lady Jaguars outscored them 21-10 in the decisive fourth quarter.
Lenaira Ruffin led River Mill with 21 points and 10 rebounds. Ashley Spivey hit four three-pointers added 15 points, while Marla Crawford added nine assists.
Ladeja James led First Colonial with 16 points.
River Mill will face Mount Vernon in the semifinals, at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
