Men’s Basketball (8-8, 3-2)
Elon vs. Samford, Thursday, Jan. 19, at 7 p.m., Alumni Gym
Elon vs. Chattanooga, Saturday, Jan. 21, at 7 p.m., Alumni Gym

• After coming away with a split in Charleston against The Citadel and College of Charleston, Elon still sits atop the North Division standings with a 3-2 Southern Conference record.
• The Phoenix will welcome Samford to Alumni Gym on Thursday night. The Bulldogs own a 5-1 all-time record against Elon. The teams split the meetings last season with each team winning on its home court.
• Chattanooga visits Elon on Saturday and has won the last two games against the Phoenix.

Women’s Basketball (8-9, 4-4)
Elon at Western Carolina, Wednesday, Jan. 18, at 12 p.m., Cullowhee, N.C.

• Elon returns to action on Wednesday for a noon-tip at Western Carolina.
• The Phoenix went 2-0 last week after rallying late for wins over Georgia Southern and College of Charleston.
• Ali Ford averaged 15 points for the Phoenix last week and is now four three-pointers shy of breaking Lorretta Lawson’s all-time record of 234. Ford became the Southern Conference’s leader in three-pointers on Dec. 29 when she passed Davidson’s Janna Magette’s mark of 213.

Women’s Tennis
Elon at North Carolina, Wednesday, Jan. 18, at 2 p.m., Chapel Hill, N.C.
Elon at North Carolina A&T, Friday, Jan. 20, at 2:30 p.m., Greensboro, N.C.

• Under the tutelage of head coach Elizabeth Anderson, now in her eighth season, Elon begins is spring schedule on Wednesday in Chapel Hill when the Phoenix takes on the Tar Heels. Two days later, Elon shuffles off to Greensboro to take on North Carolina A&T.
• The Phoenix returns a young and talented core of players from last year’s squad, including reigning Southern Conference Freshman of the Year Jordan Johnston.
• Elon welcomes three freshmen to this year’s team, including Maria Camara Ruiz, Barbora Lazarova and Katy Canada.

Women’s Track and Field
Elon at State Farm Games, Saturday, Jan. 21, Morgantown, W.Va.

• The Phoenix will compete in its second meet of the 2011-12 indoor season at the State Farm Games after winning two titles at the Liberty Kickoff on Dec. 3.
• Elon claimed the 4×400-meter relay title at the Liberty Kickoff with a time of 3:65.54 from Bria Bell, Veronica Luedke, Abigail Steinseik and Amy Salek.
• The maroon and gold swept the podium in the 400-meter dash at the Liberty Kickoff as Salek, Bell and Veronica Luedke finished 1-2-3, respectively.
