Randolph College’s Colton Hunt Earns CoSIDA Academic All-District 5 Honors

LYNCHBURG, VA – For the second consecutive season, men’s basketball junior Colton Hunt (Whittier, NC/Smoky Mountain) has earned Academic Division III All-District 5 accolades, as voted on by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Hunt, who currently sports a 3.93 grade point average in the field of economics, earned the same laurels last season as a sophomore. He was one of only five members selected of all the schools in District 5, which stretches from Florida to Virginia. Hunt was also named last season’s Old Dominion Athletic Conference/Farm Bureau Scholar-Athlete of the Year award for men’s basketball.

This season on the court, Colton has been just as consistent as last year, posting 16.1 points per game to go with 5.1 rebounds, 2.3 assists and a free-throw percentage of .878. Hunt set the program record for points in a game and career this season with 30, and also recently scored his 1,000th point for the WildCats.

Hunt will now be entered into the pool for 2011-12 CoSIDA Academic All-American voting, which will happen in the coming weeks.
