East Forsyth too much for Southwest Guilford Cowboys tonight:Eagles win it 74-59

The Cowboys took to the road to face off against conference foe East Forsyth. Both
teams came in with Conference standings in mind as the season is starting to wind
down. It was Senior Night for the Eagles and the emotion and crowd helped the home
squad come out juiced. The story of the first have was an emotional high for the
Eagles and missed free throws for the Cowboys (at one point 10 in a row). And
unfortunately for the visitors that trend continued throughout the night. After the
first it was 14-12 in favor of the Eagles. Wasted possessions and opportunities
doomed the Cowboys as the deficit grew to 10 going into the half at 28-21. The third
quarter was 8 minutes of back and forth sloppy basketball, with the Eagles once
again winning the frame going into the fourth up 44-34. The final quarter had little
drama as the Cowboys seemed to get on a little roll cutting it to 48-42 with 5:45 to
go and possession. However, another missed opportunity killed their momentum as they
just couldn’t keep their footing as the Eagles dunked the lead out to a 74-59
victory. The Cowboys were paced by Jordan Hanner (14), Braxton Daye (14), and
Brandon Clyburn (11). The Eagles were lead by PJ Jones (26), and Craig Hinton (19).
