Media Report on High Point Central over Southwest Guilford tonight 61-54

Courtesy of Greg Vlazny Southwest Guilford Bssketball:

It was a back and forth battle between the Bison and Cowboys tonight here at
Southwest. High Point Central opened up a 10-5 lead thanks to a half dozen Cowboy
turnovers. Once the Cowboys finally woke up they scored the last 6 points of an ugly
quarter to take a slim 11-10 lead. The second frame was Central’s turn for a run as
they got up by as many as 9 at the 2:25 mark 23-14. Once again southwest tried to
dig out by cutting it to 25-22 at the break. The second half started off with the
Cowboys having the momentum by jumping out quickly and seemingly taking control.
Southwest got the lead out to 34-27 with 4:45 to go, but the Bison slowly chipped
away until tying it up at 38 at the 1:45 mark. A huge 3 by the Cowboys regained the
lead but 4 straight points including a put back at the buzzer put Central up 42-41
at the end of the third. The final frame went back and forth with 3 ties, and four
lead changes. Central was able to knock down open free throws while the Cowboys’
turnover and empty trips doomed them to the tune of a 61-54 victory for the Bison.
Southwest was paced by Jordan Hanner (18), and Braxton Daye (14). Central was lead
by Cory Hanes (17), JD Bryant (10), and Juwan Foggie (10).
