THE FIRST TEE OF THE TRIAD ANNOUNCES 2012 PROGRAMS AND SUMMER CAMPS

Greensboro’s Carolina Golf Names First Tee Facility

GREENSBORO, N.C. – – Registration has begun for The First Tee of the Triad’s
2012 programs designed to teach kids golf and life skills, it was announced
today. In addition, Rick Murphy’s Carolina Golf has been named a First Tee
of the Triad facility.

For a mere $135, Piedmont Triad kids can take part in the First Tee of the
Triad program that includes a 12-week spring session, summer camp and a
12-week fall session. That comes to more than two dozen golf lessons and
two dozen life lessons for just $135 per child.

In Winston-Salem, the program can handle a maximum of 400 children
participating at Winston Lake, Tanglewood Park and Salem Glen golf courses.
In Greensboro, the program can handle a maximum of 300 children
participating at Gillespie Park and Rick Murphy’s Carolina Golf, the newest
facility taking part in The First Tee of the Triad. A multiple award winner
in golf instruction, Murphy is listed as one of the top teachers in the
southeastern United States by Golf Magazine.

“I am a parent of two children, and for families with children who do after
school activities and go to summer camps, this is an unbelievable bargain,”
First Tee of the Triad president and chief executive officer Mike Barber
said. “But the special thing about programs through The First Tee of the
Triad is that in addition to golf lessons, we teach life lessons focusing on
our nine core values: confidence, courtesy, integrity, honesty, judgment,
sportsmanship, perseverance, respect and responsibility. Golf is a
phenomenal sport, but when a child has an opportunity to learn about life
through golf, it’s a wonderful opportunity.”
