Emma Phillips Named ODAC Swimmer of the Year

The stellar career of senior Pride women’s swimmer Emma Phillips is nearly complete, but not without due recognition. Phillips, the school record holder in nine events and the ODAC record holder in the 200 IM, was honored on Sunday as the conference Swimmer of the Year.

Phillips helped lead Greensboro to a fifth place finish at the ODAC Championships over the weekend with three individual titles in the 200 IM, 400 IM and 200 breaststroke. Her time of 2:09.62 in the 200 IM on Friday broke the conference and meet records; the first ever by a Pride swimmer.

While defending her ODAC titles in the 400 IM and 200 breaststroke, Phillips also set new career best marks.
