Greensboro College Women’s Basketball Beats Allen for 19th Win

(GREENSBORO, N.C.) — The Pride dominated the first half and cruised to another victory over Allen University, 84-59. The win is the 19th of the season for Greensboro and they will be looking to claim their second consecutive 20 win season on Wednesday.

Greensboro jumped out on top early and never relented as they dominated the first half, outscoring Allen 48-29. The Pride capitolized on 15 first half fouls, converting 13 of 18 from the line and hitting 50% of their shots from the floor. Their hot shooting transferred over to the three-point line, as the went seven for 11 and dished out 13 assists.

The Pride continued to cruise in the second half, leading by as many as 30. Eleven different players added to the scoring column for head coach Randy Tuggle and four player cracked double-digits. Greensboro forced 27 turnovers on 13 steals, while shooting 42.9% from the floor.

Jena Cabe led The Pride with 17 points, 15 from beyond the arc, while Danielle Duncanand Andrienne Terrell added 14 apiece and Bianca Richburg had 12. Terrell also led The Pride with six rebounds and eight assists.

The Pride will finish their conference season by the end of the week, as they travel to Averett on Wednesday and host the season finale against Shenandoah Saturday. Greensboro is currently tied for second in the USA South.
