ACC Men’s Hoops Today with UNC on top and N.C. State and Wake Forest feeling the pain, again(N.C. State gets whipped by two in-state products in Ian Miller and Terry Whisnant)

It’s tough when you lose, but it is even worse when you lose to players that came from your own state and then they come back home and beat you on your home court….That’s what happened to N.C. State today when Ian Miller(United Faith Christian Academy in Charlotte) and Terry Whisnant II(Cherryville High School) came back to their home state with Florida State and they beat N.C. State, in Raleigh….Ian Miller(United Faith) has been playing very good for Florida State recently(17 points today)….He is playing much better than say a Quincey Miller, who came out of Westchester Country Day and went to Baylor….Ian Miller is the real deal for the Florida State Seminoles……See all the scores below…..

Miami 74
Wake Forest 56

Florida State 76
NC State 62

Virginia 71
Maryland 44

Virginia Tech 74
Georgia Tech 73 ( OT )

North Carolina 74
Clemson 52

Harrison Barnes with 24 points for UNC

  1. That is an interesting point that Florida State beat NC State in large part with NC kids. Considering that one of Florida State’s main recruits this year is also coming from NC (Wesleyan kid), it is really interesting that a Florida school is building its program with about 20% of the kids from NC by 2012-13.. Frank Heath recruited NC for a number of years and his former Miami team is still in the top half of the conference. The current Miami team has 4 of 15 kids from NC. We go down to Florida to get top players in football and they (Florida schools) come here for top players in basketball.
