BLACKSBURG, Va. – The Elon track and field team completed action in the final day of the Virginia Tech Challenge today, Feb. 18, in Rector Field House.
In the track events, Abigail Steinsiek placed 22nd in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:02.08, while Jackie Madden took seventh in the 600-meter run after clocking a 1:43.17.
Jordan Lee and Haley Laird claimed third and seventh in the high jump with heights of 5’5” and 5’1”. Veronica Luedke made a leap of 35’7.75” to place 13th in the triple jump, while a toss of 42’.75” earned Charlise Morgan seventh in the shot put.
The next meet for the Elon track and field team will be the 2012 Southern Conference Indoor Championships on Thursday, Feb. 23 – Friday, Feb. 24, in Birmingham, Ala.
