NGFS wins Invitational Tourney today

New Garden Friends School over Mooresville Christian today and a big game for Kanayo Obi-Rapu Jr. and Keemon Ingram…..

The Bears brought home the championship tonight. Kanayo Obi-Rapu Jr. had 36 points….Keemon Ingram had 20 and 8 rebounds…..Ronald Curry(UNC) was the coach for Mooresville Christian….

  1. This was an exciting game start to finish… two very good basketball teams going at each other with no one backing down. The Bears made a couple of defensive adjustments early that slowed down Mooresville’s fast break and stopped them from gaining an advantage. In the final quarter the Bears stamina helped them to continue to push the ball on offense and pressure it on defense.

    In addition to Obi-Rapu Jr’s 36 points and 10 rebounds for a double double, Cameron Williams added a double double with 14 points and 15 rebounds. Keemon Ingram, although constantly closely defended after last night’s 39 points, still managed 20 very big points for the Bears. Nolan Morgenstern continued to play well, scoring 13 and taking 5 steals. Noah Poulos and Matt Secor hit big three pointers in the third quarter…. Poulos finished with 9 points on three 3’s and Secor grabbed 8 rebounds to go with his five points.

    It was a big Bears win in front of a large, loud and appreciative crowd …
