Westchester Country Day won its 4th straight conference championship with a 48-46 win over Caldwell Academy…. Mike Kobani and Matt Uchedike got all conference for Caldwell, Josh Burton and Sadeeq Bello for WCDS did too.

  1. Boy, this one hurt.

    Congrats to Westchester. Josh Burton and Sadeeq Bello were tough to stop, as was #11. Sadeeq and #11 drove well to the basket and Josh hit some outside shots. It was either he, or maybe #11, who hit a particularly big three to stretch a 44-43 lead to 47-43 with less than 2 minutes left. And #11 appeared to have some troubles with tightness in his leg muscles in the first half. Gutsy performance from him. And #24 down low blocked about 6 shots and played good defense down low.

    For Caldwell, both Michael and Matthew had 4 fouls in the 3rd quarter and didn’t come back till 4 minutes left in the game. We didn’t shot particularly well – especially in the first half. Brett Manning and Daniel Branon hit a few big shots late, but it wasn’t enough. Congrats to Michael for co-league MVP.

    Again, congrats to the Wildcats and hope both represent the Triad and their schools well in the state playoffs starting Tuesday.

  5. we are playing Caldwell again in the 1st round of the state tournement NCISAA 2A 6 pm at WCDS. Also High Point Christian is #1 in 3A, Ravenscroft #2, Christ School #3, GDS #4, Wesleyan #5 could set up to be great games in the quarters semis and championships

    I think that will be the 8th meeting in the last 2 years, and you guys are up 6-1 on us. Was a good, well-played game Saturday night (and a thriller @ WCD last time when Josh Burton put in the game winner) and expect same from both teams @ WCD Tuesday.

  7. yes should be a great game with the winner most likely facing #1 Davidson Day in the triangle on thursday
