Kind of wild, Three Northeast Guilford baseball players will be going for State Wrestling Titles tonight with McCann, Wyrick and Millaway, plus Nie from Dudley and Jamison from NWG and the Le-Waden tag team from HPA!

Crazy enough to see one kid from a school going for a State Title, but three and all of them off of the same baseball team…..We mentioned Jacob McCann last night and that fact that he will be going for a NCHSAA 3-A State Wrestling Title tonight, at the Greensboro Coliseum in the 220 pound weight class, well he will be joined in the Finals by baseball teammates Cole Wyrick at 195 and by Matt Millaway at 138 pounds……The NEG Rams first baseball game is set for next Monday or Tuesday, so Jacob, Cole and Matt can hit the mat tonight and take to the baseball diamond on Monday…..Get the crown jewel this evening and then the diamond on Monday afternoon….

We also have locals Andre Nie, from Dudley seeking a 4-A Title in 126 pound weight class and Austin Jamison from Northwest Guilford going for the 4-A crown in the 120 pound class….

Quan Le at 113 and Khiry Waden(145 pounds) will try and bring home 2-A Titles for High Point Andrews this evening…..

In those 3-A matches with the three NEG baseball players in the semifinals, Millaway won 6-3, Wyrick advanced by a 9-3 score and McCann pulled out a 4-3 victory…..Jamison, from NWG slipped past his semifinal opponent 2-1….Nie rolled 11-1, Le posteda 13-7 decision and Waden won 9-3….

Good luck to all the young men this evening and especially to the ‘Big Three’ from NEG……..
