At 1pm today the Vandalia Christian School Lady Vikings will meet Wilson Christian for NCCSA basketball champsionship….The game will be played at the Gospel Light Christian School in Walkertown where the pastor Steve Robertson presides….Robertson a former basketball All-American at Tennessee Temple University in Chattanooga….VCS topped Wilmington Christian 60-33 Friday, to reach today’s finals….
At around 2:30pm, also at Gospel Light in Walkertown, the home of the Gospel Light Lions, the Vandalia Viking boys will meet Neuse Christian, out of Raleigh for the boys/men’s NCCSA Title….The VCS boys advanced to the finals with their 67-58 win over Raleigh Christian, on Friday night….Last boys title for VCS in basketball came back in 1985, with a team coached by Rodney Mitchell and led by Mike New, Richard Cheek, Mark Kurtz, Craig Glass, Keith Roberts, Mike Wilson, Danny Shoffner, David Wagoner, Barry Shore, Terry Herndon, David Hales, Mike Russo and others won it all over Woodland Christian, at Gospel Light…..
