Nie, Jamison, Waden and O’Shea among the area kids to get crowns/championships at NCHSAA Wrestling

Congratulations to the young men from Guilford County that won NCHSAA State Wrestling Titles on Saturday night at the Geensboro Coliseum….

We had the freshman Austin Jamison(Northwest Guilford) in the 4-A 120 pound weight class….Always good to go ahead and get a title in the lighter classes when you are younger, when you start growing more, it could get tougher and Congrats to Austin….

Andre Nie(Dudley) was a winner/champion in the 4-A 126 pound class…..Nie had been in the finals before and lost and this time he went back and got his title….

Khiry Waden(High Point Andrews) didn’t wrestle last year, but this year as a senior, he took the 145 pound class on the 2-A level….

Patrick O’Shea(Bishop McGuinness) won his title in 152 pound class on the 1-A level…..

Our three baseball players from Northeast Guilford ended up with the Silver when they fell in the finals…..#2 Finish on the 3-A level for Matt Millaway(138), Cole Wyrick(195) and Jacob McCann at (220) pounds and all three are expected to be at baseball practice on Monday afternoon….
