Shining Light – 2nd in the NCCSA 1A State Tournament / 3rd Place in the NACA Nationals

In the semi final game in the NACA National tournament Shining Light went head to head with Gabriel Christian. SLA came out slow but was still able to lead by 2 after the first quarter of play. The 2nd quarter went to Gabriel Christian as they took a 4 point lead to halftime. Gabriel Christian came out strong in the early 3rd quarter and had Shining Light by as much as 18 points down before the Knights fought back and went into the 4th quarter down by 9. Sophomore Caleb Robinson then took it up another notch and scored 13 of his game high 24 points in the final quarter but it was just not enough as Gabriel Christian hit their free throws down the stretch to seal the victory.

Shining Light would then play the consolation Championship at 4:00pm against Marysville Christian from Kentucky. Senior Ryan Crumpton led the Knights with 18 points as the Knights would win 56-52 in OT. Junior Matthew Jeffries would add 13 points and 12 rebounds. Shining Light finishes up a successful season taking 2nd in the NCCSA 1A State Tournament and 3rd Place in the NACA Nationals.
