Jones-Berasaluce (BEAR-uh-sah-LOO-thay) tossed a complete-game seven-hitter in Guilford’s 13-1 ODAC win at Hampden-Sydney College March 10. His first complete game of the season marked the longest outing of his career. He yielded one walk and fanned a season-high five to help the Quakers snap a three-game losing skid.

Jones-Berasaluce improved to 2-1 on the season and lowered his earned run average to 2.96, which ranks second on the team. He has 14 strikeouts and 10 walks in 27.1 innings of work. Opponents are hitting .288 against him this year.

Coach Nick Black’s ’02 team is 10-8 this season (2-2 ODAC) headed into midweek home games with Eureka College (3/14) and Ferrum College (3/15). Guilford visits league-rival Washington and Lee University Saturday at 12 noon in a doubleheader.
