Elon Track and Field’s Salek Receives Two SoCon Honors

ELON, N.C. – Elon track and field standout Amy Salek has been named the Southern Conference’s Women’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week and the Student-Athlete of the Week. The senior was selected as the track athlete of the week by the league’s track and field coaches, while the student-athlete of the week honor came from the conference office.

Salek claimed two titles for the Phoenix at the Coastal Carolina Invitational on Saturday, March 10. She ran the anchor leg of Elon’s first-place 4×400-meter relay in a time of 3:50.49. Salek also won the 400-meter dash by posting a time of 55.71. She claimed third in the 200-meter dash with a mark of 24.77 to record three podium finishes at the meet.

The Wycoff, N.J., native holds a GPA of 3.76 in exercise science.

Elon track and field will next compete in the Raleigh Relays on Friday, March 30, in Raleigh, N.C.
