Those in Charlotte will attest to the fact that Charlotte has wanted a baseball stadium downtown before Durham built theirs. Long time before Greensboro built theirs. Decades before Winston-Salem built theirs.
I recall a Boulevard of Champions video many years ago showing the proposed NFL Panthers Stadium on one end with the NBA Hornets Arena on the other end, with a Triple-A Knights baseball stadium and ECHL Checkersice arena between the two. Things have changed; but the desire to put the Charlotte Knights in Charlotte remained.
The Knight owners are lining up to the public trough for Taxpayer Funds.
They are pointing to cities where growth has exploded near the new stadiums. Funny, they omitted Greensboro and Winston-Salem.
