DANVILLE, Va. – Guilford College’s women’s tennis team extended its winning streak to three Friday with an 8-1 road win at Averett University.
Guilford freshman Haley Andrews claimed a 6-3, 6-3 win at first singles over the Cougars Ilona Kilpi. Andrews teamed with Allison Hewitt for an 8-0 win over Averett’s Justine Cherochak and Morgan Epstein at second doubles. Hewitt was a 6-1, 6-0 winner at fourth singles for Guilford (6-7).
Guilford took advantage of the Cougars’ five-player roster and scored two points by default.
The Quakers are scheduled to host Southern Virginia University at 2:30 p.m. in a match rescheduled from March 3. Guilford’s contest at Bridgewater, scheduled for Sunday (3/35), has been moved to April 14 at 2:00 p.m.
