Saturday’s HPU Baseball Game at Charleston Southern Moved to Noon

CHARLESTON, S.C. – Saturday’s Big South Conference baseball game between High Point University and Charleston Southern at CSU Ballpark has been moved to a noon start time due to weather concerns. The game was originally scheduled for 2 p.m.

High Point won the first game of the series, 2-0, on Friday. Junior Ryan Retz picked up the win, throwing eight shutout innings. Freshman Joe Goodman pitched a perfect ninth inning for his second save of the season. Senior Sal Pezzino had the game-winning hit, a double in the third inning to drive in two runs.

Junior Matt Armstead will start for the Panthers on Saturday. He is 2-2 with a 3.58 ERA and 19 strikeouts this season.
