High Point Christian’s Hayden Harrington headed to Bridgewater College:Third HPCA Cougar to sign for football

HIGH POINT CHRISTIAN’S HAYDEN HARRINGTON HEADING TO BRIDGEWATER COLLEGE

Hayden Harrington recently became the third High Point Christian Academy football player to decide on where he will continue his playing career by selecting Bridgewater College. “Bridgewater is a great fit for me academically and athletically,” offered Harrington. Harrington will play wide receiver for Bridgewater and plans to pursue to an undergraduate degree in business.

Hayden Harrington capped an outstanding four year career with High Point Christian Academy this past season by leading the team in receptions, receiving yards, yards per catch, and receiving touchdowns. “From day one Hayden has been our big play guy on offense,” commented HPCA Head Coach Steve Lechner. Harrington leaves HPCA as its career leader in receptions and receiving yards. Moreover, Harrington showed uncommon perseverance by overcoming two serious injuries along the way. Harrington explained, “I love the game and never gave up on my dream of continuing to play football after high school.”

Bridgewater College is a co-education college located in Bridgewater, Virginia. The Eagles play at the NCAA’s Division III level as a member of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference. Bridgewater College finished the 2011 season with a 6-4 record including a 59-13 victory over Guilford College. Harrington joins former teammates Shawn Millsap (Campbell) and Aaron Quate (Guilford) as the first Cougars to continue their football careers at the next level. According to Coach Lechner, “College programs can see that we have high quality, well-coached players who are also great students and solid citizens off the field.”
