NORFOLK, Va. — North Carolina freshman James Michael McAdoo has a big decision to make this week: Go to the NBA and pursue his dream or return to the Tar Heels basketball team for his sophomore season.

McAdoo’s father, Ronnie, said the family will weigh options this week and have a decision by the weekend. They have until April 10 to decide.

“The word to us is that he’s definitely a lottery pick,” Ronnie McAdoo said. “It’s amazing isn’t it? From a kid from Norfolk Christian to a lottery pick.”

McAdoo said he and his wife, Janet, have their preference on what their son should do, but in the end, the decision is his.
