Ragsdale and SW Guilford were able to complete their game tonight with SW
holding on to secure the 2 – 1 win.

Reid Holmes and his staff did a great job in getting the field in shape
after a storm blew through the area and turning the infield into a muddy
mess. The start time was delayed from 5:00 PM until 6:15 to give them time
to get the water off the field and put down dirt to make the field playable.

When the game resumed, it was 2 – 1 SW Guilford with the Cowboys at bat in
the bottom of the fourth with two outs. Matt Horkey returned to the mound
for the Tigers and recorded a strikeout to end the fourth. Horkey also
pitched the fifth, giving up a leadoff walk, but retiring the side from
there. After striking out the first batter in the sixth, Horkey was
relieved by Mitch Carstens who struck out the two batters he faced.

Matt Orth relieved Sean Geoghegan to start the fifth and he pitched three
innings of shutout ball, facing the minimum of nine batters and recording 5
strikeouts to pick up the save.

The final stats show Ragsdale with 1 run on 3 hits, 0 errors and 3 left on
base. SW Guilford had 2 runs on 3 hits, 1 error and 3 left on base. Horkey
suffered the loss and Geoghegan picked up the win. Matt Orth drove in the
winning run in third inning with a sacrifice fly as Austin Zente scored
after hitting an RBI double and stealing third.

It was a well played game by both sides with outstanding pitching. The two
teams will attempt to play again tomorrow at Ragsdale, weather permitting.
The start time has been moved up to 5:00 PM in an attempt to get the game
in.
