Elon Track and Field Starts Competition at Duke and Liberty

ELON, N.C. – The Elon track and field team competed in both the Duke Invitational and Liberty Collegiate Invitational today, April 6.

In Durham, N.C., at the Duke Invitational, Veronica Luedke placed 11th in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:03.75.

Christine Pacewicz and Brennan McDavid finished 28th and 39th, respectively, in the 1,500-meter run with times of 4:51.37 and 4:55.18. In the 1,500m developmental run,
Jenny Gallagher (5:05.58) and Kylie Womack (5:08.65) claimed 11th and 14th.

Katelyn O’Dunne took 11th in section C of the 5,000-meter run with a time of 19:26.23, while Kaitlin Stober earned 14th in section B after posting a 18:49.98.

At the Liberty Collegiate Invitational in Lynchburg, Va., Suzanne Martin took second in the javelin with a heave of 130’4”, while Jordan Lee placed 10th with a throw of 87’1”. Alyssa Girvin made a toss of 137’6” in the hammer through to finish 13th.

Louise Prevoteau sits first in the heptathlon with 2,848 points after four events. The freshman finished second in the 100-meter hurdles (14.94), first in the high jump (5’4.25”), fifth in the shot put (29’6.5”) and fourth in the 200-meter dash (26.39).

Elon will complete competition at both Duke and Liberty tomorrow, April 7.
