Phoenix Men’s Golf Complete Coca-Cola Wofford Invitational

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Elon men’s golf team posted a final-round scored of 299 to finish the Coca-Cola Wofford Invitational with a 54-hole mark of 895. The Phoenix finished the tournament in 16th place on the par-72, 6,648-yard Country Club of Spartanburg course.

Blayze Dipasquale posted Elon’s lowest score after all three rounds of 219 (73-74-72) to tie for 25th out of the 90 golfers. His final-round mark of even-par was a team low for the tournament.

John Somers (77-74-75) and Jack Adkins (73-75-78) tied for 56th after both shooting 226. Two strokes behind Somers and Adkins in 71st was Stuart Kaufman with a three-round mark of 228 (77-73-78).

Tanner Norton rounded out the final round for the maroon and gold with a 74. The senior posted a 233 (80-79-74) for 81st overall.

Campbell’s Vaita Guillaume posted a 54-hole tournament record of 12-under-par 204 (69-64-71), breaking the record set by Michael Capone of Wake Forest in 1999.

The 18-team field was led by Charleston Southern, which shot a three-day score of 23-under-par 841 (282-280-279). The Bucs 54-hole score set a new team tournament record held previously by East Tennessee State. ETSU claimed second with an 851 (285-286-280), followed by Campbell with an 861 (288-283-290). Host Wofford and Longwood rounded out the top five with scores of 869 (286-292-291) and 870 (293-288-289), respectively.

The Phoenix will compete next in the Southern Conference Championship in Daniel Island, S.C., on Sunday, April 15 – Tuesday, April 17.
