Hoppers(4-2)/Claws(2-4)….Austin Brice, out of Northwood High School in Pittsboro, took the loss on Tuesday night and you have to give it up to Greg Nappo for the Hoppers, who worked the middle innings going the 5th, 6th and 7th innings on the hill, 9 men up and 9 men down versus Nappo….He retired all nine of the men he faced and put goose eggs in the scorebook…..
Today the Hoppers face Lakewood in the final game of the seven-game home stand and it’s game three versus LWD and it will be LHP Adam Conley(1-0) vs. another lefty Ervis Manzanillo(0-0) for Lakewood…..Game time is 12:20pm at NewBridge Bank Park….

Starting pitching was heralded as the strength of this year’s Grasshoppers team and it has been as good as advertised so far.
But the hitting has been something to behold, too. Monday night the Hoppers hit four home runs, including back-to-back-to-back shots in the second inning, en route to a 6-2 win over the Lakewood BlueClaws. The win pushed Greensboro to 4-1 on the season.
