‘Big’ Ben Strong(Guilford College) headed to the D-League Playoffs with the Iowa Energy

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Guilford College alumnus Ben Strong ’08 and his Iowa Energy opened the National Basketball Association Developmental League playoffs April 11.

Strong, a 6-11 center, played in 48 of Iowa’s regular-season games with 21 starts. He averaged 8.0 points on 55 percent field goal shooting, plus 5.1 rebounds and a team-high 1.58 blocks per game. Strong totaled 18 games with 10 or more points, including nine since March 1 as Iowa claimed the league’s eighth and final playoff spot.

Iowa, the defending D-League champions, began a three-game series with the top-seeded Los Angeles D-Fenders April 11 at the Wells Fargo Arena before the series shifts to Los Angeles for the remaining games.
