GC Baseball Eliminated With 3-0 Loss to NC Wesleyan

The Greensboro College baseball team saw its USA South championship hopes come to end with a 3-0 loss to North Carolina Wesleyan on Friday. The Pride entered the tournament as the #3 seed but suffered two upset losses to Averett and North Carolina Wesleyan.

The Bishops struck for two runs in the first inning and added a run in the seventh to pick up the win. Greensboro managed only four hits in the loss, with four different players picking up a hit.

The Pride advanced one runner past second base, as Steven Pfeiffer opened the fourth with a double and moved to third with one out. Unfortunately, Greensboro was unable to convert as the next two hitters were retired.

Michael Cobb took the loss on the mound for The Pride, despite a complete game effort. Cobb allowed nine hits with three strike outs.

The Pride are now 21-14 on the season. Greensboro is scheduled to wrap up its season slate with home game against Eastern Mennonite on Sunday. Game time is scheduled for 6 p.m. at War Memorial Stadium with Senior Day festivities beginning at 5:45 p.m.
