GC Men’s Golf Holds 18 Hole Lead After Day 2 at USA South Championship

(BURLINGTON, N.C.) — The Pride men’s golf team further distanced itself from the field after day two of three at the USA South Championship. Greensboro has a two day total of four over par, 572 (288-284). Christopher Newport is in second at 590 (294-296), with Methodist rounding out the top three at 591 (298-293).

Four of the top five Pride golfers rank in the top five of the overall standings. Nick Peoples continued his stellar weekend play with a -3, 68 to sit in a tie for first at 139 (71-68). Joshua Hudgins in is in third at 143 (70-73) while Ben Nihart (74-71) and Scott Novicki (73-72) are tied for fourth at 145. Kirk Mitchell rounds out the group in a tie for 12th at 151 (74-77).

The final day of the USA South Championship is scheduled for Sunday at the par 71, 7,032 yard Stoney Creek Golf Club in Burlington, NC. Greensboro is set to tee off at 12:38 p.m.
