James Johnson to be new Virginia Tech men’s basketball coach

I have confirmed this from a source with knowledge of the situation: James Johnson informed Clemson coach Brad Brownell today he was leaving his job as a Clemson assistant to become the new head coach of the Hokies.

Johnson, a Ferrum graduate, had been on the Tech staff for five years before leaving earlier this month to join the Clemson staff.

According to the man with inside on this matter, Mark Berman, the Hokie returning players are all very excited and they plan to return and play for James Johnson…..
