Ragsdale 0 2 2
NW Guilford 7 8 0

WP: Keaton Haack(Anybody know Keaton’s W-L record overall for the season?)
LP: Mitch Carstens

Northwest did all of their damage in the third inning, scoring seven runs on six hits and taking advantage of two Ragsdale errors. Things got going when Jesse Juday led off the third by striking out, but reached on a passed ball and got all to way to third when the catcher through the ball down the right field line. Juday scored on a Stephen Hemrick single. An error on a dropped ball by the Ragsdale shortstop on a potential double play put runners on first and second and opened the floodgates. Jackson Bellinkes and Matt Bond both drove in two runs with singles and Juday drove in two more with a double as Northwest sent 12 men to the plate.

Haack went four innings only allowing one runner, that coming on a Niko Orfanedes double in the fourth. Haack was also two for three at the plate. Shane Hamlett also had two hits for the Vikings.

Northwest advances to face the Southwest Guilford / Parkland winner on Friday night at 5:00 PM at Ragsdale. The Vikings improve to 14 – 10. Ragsdale’s season ends with a 9 – 13 record.

  1. Thanks Mike for your updates all year. We Ragsdale opponents appreciate the details as well. The game was not indicative of the two battles these teams had during the regular season. Ragsdale is a tough team, and a young team. With the return of Sparks next year, and all the young frosh and sophs that played this year, Ragsdale should be a strong team over the next several years. Good luck to Carstens, Morrison, and the Ragsdale seniors.
