College Lacrosse News – Guilford’s Chase Clausen Named Third Team All-ODAC

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Guilford College sophomore Chase Clausen (Portland, Ore./Lake Oswego) earned Third Team All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Men’s Lacrosse recognition Thursday. The all-conference selections were nominated and selected by the league’s men’s lacrosse coaches.

Clausen, a 5-10, 160-pound midfielder, ranked second on the team in scoring with 35 points on 22 goals and 13 assists, all career-high figures. He played in all 15 games, stood second on the team in assists and third in goals. Clausen led the Quakers’ scorers in ODAC play with 20 points on 14 goals and six assists. His 14 goals stand eighth in the league and his 20 points rank 11th.

Clausen scored a point in 12 of 15 contests and had goals in 10 games. He hit for a career-high seven points on five goals and two assists in the Quakers’ 17-2 ODAC win over Randolph College Mar. 17. Clausen’s four goals and one assist aided Guilford in its 18-3 triumph over visiting Cazenovia College Mar. 7. The match marked one of his six multiple-goal games this season.

Coach Tom Carmean’s Quakers finished with a 6-9 overall record (1-6 ODAC) and could return as many as 27 letterwinners in 2013, including Clausen.
