College Men’s Track and Field Results – Guilford Competes at Duke Twilight

DURHAM, N.C. – Guilford College sophomore David Cason (Clemmons, N.C./West Forsyth) lowered his school record in the 3000-meter steeplechase Sunday night at the Duke Twilight. Cason placed 11th among 19 runners in nine minutes, 24.48 seconds, nearly four seconds better than his previous mark set Apr. 21 at the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Championships.

Cason was one of six Quakers competing at the evening meet. Sophomore C.J. Green finished 16th in the 100-meter dash in 11.25 seconds, tops among NCAA Division III contestants. He finished 29th in the 200 with a time of 24.05 seconds.

Sophomore Chad Norton placed 13th among 20 in the 5,000 with a time of 15:39.50 and Joseph Rangel finished 28th in the 1,500 in 4:32.76. Dylan Skinner took 30th in the 800 in 1:56.63. Teammate Josh Farrar (Greensboro, N.C./Northwest Guilford) took 42nd in 2:03.92.

Interim coach Danny Cash’s team is scheduled to send competitors to the North Carolina State Invitational May 12.
