College Men’s Track & Field Results – Guilford’s Cason Competes at Wolfpack Last Chance Meet

RALEIGH, N.C. – Guilford College sophomore David Cason (Clemmons, N.C./West Forsyth) clocked the third-fastest 3,000-meter steeplechase time in school history Sunday at the Wolfpack Last Chance Meet hosted by North Carolina State University.

The lone NCAA Division III contestant in the race, Cason completed the course in nine minutes, 35.65 seconds. Wake Forest University’s Paul Loeser hit the tape first in 8:58.82.

Cason ran the fastest time in school history (9:24.48) last Sunday at the Duke Twilight and won the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) title April 20 in 9:28.13.

Interim coach Danny Cash’s Quakers are ranked 21st in the latest USTFCCA Division III Men’s Track & Field Rankings and await selections for the NCAA Championships May 24-26.
