Shemiah Brooks(SWG) has a busy day at NCHSAA 4-A Track and Field Midwest Regionals this past Saturday at WS Reagan

Southwest Guilford’s Shemiah Brooks had two firsts and a second to highlight the Cowgirls’ efforts in the NCHSAA 4A Midwest Regional track meet that ended late Saturday at Reagan.

Brooks won the triple jump at 39-3.75, won the 100 hurdles at 14.29 and took second in the long jump at 17-9. The Cowgirls’ Hunter Roberts placed second in the 100 hurdles in 14.32 with teammate Kayla Williams third in 14.84. Parkland’s girls won the team title at 112. Southwest placed sixth with 53 points. HP Central took seventh with 34. Reagan’s boys won the team crown at 109, Ragsdale’s boys placed fourth with 63 points and HP Central was seventh with 29 points.

The top four in each event qualify for Saturday’s NCHSAA 4A championships at N.C. A&T.

High Point Central’s Thomas Jarrell finished fourth in the pole vault at 12 feet in Saturday’s NCHSAA 4A regional meet to qualify for states.
