Greensboro College Men’s Golf in 12th Heading into Final Day at NCAA Championship

(HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, FL) — The Greensboro College men’s golf team wrapped up day three of four at the NCAA Division III National Championship on Thursday at the Mission Inn Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills, FL. The Pride shot a combined team score of +13 on the challenging par-72, 6,926 yard El Campeon Course to move up to 12th in the overall standings.

Greensboro is +39 overall through three days, but are only 11 strokes behind third place Transylvania. Oglethorpe holds a commanding 16-stroke lead at +3 heading into the final day of action.

Kirk Mitchell posted a team best round of -2, featuring four birdies. Ben Nihart came into the clubhouse at +2 on the day, followed by Joshua Hudgins at +6, Scott Novicki at +7 and Nick Peoples at +8.

The Pride will conclude the four day championship on Friday. Greensboro is scheduled to tee off at 8:50 a.m. on the number ten hole of the El Campeon Course.
