Greensboro College Men’s Golf Finishes NCAA Championship in 12th Place; Nihart Named All-American

(HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, FL) — The Greensboro College men’s golf team concluded the 2011-2012 campaign on Friday with a 12th place finish at the NCAA Division III National Championship at the Mission Inn Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills, FL.

The Pride fired a final round score of +15. Leading the way for Greensboro was Second Team All-American Ben Nihart with a +1, 73. Nihart placed in a tie for 17th in the individual standings with an overall four day score of +10.

Finishing in 27th was Kirk Mitchell at +12. Mitchell shot a final day score of +6. Rounding out the group for The Pride on Friday were Scott Novicki at +2, Joshua Hudgins at +8 and Nick Peoples at +8.

Oglethorpe took him the team crown with a total team score of +19. Oglethorpe’s Anthony Maccaglia won the individual title at +3 overall.
