The Bulldogs need extra frames to finish Mooresville All Americans, win 6-4

The Bulldogs outlasted Mooresville All Americans at Lake norman high 6-4 on Wednesday
after 11 innings. With the score tied at four in the eleventh inning, Ray Crawford
(UNCG/Dudley HS) came to the plate and singled, bringing home Macon Smith (Guilford
College/Western Guilford). The Bulldogs came out swinging, scoring three runs in the first inning to jump ahead of Mooresville All Americans early. Crawford helped the Bulldogs pull ahead for the duration in the eleventh inning.Brennen James (UNCG) got it done on the rubber on the way to a win. He pitched four shutout innings. He struck out four, walked two and surrendered no hits.The Bulldogs jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the top of the first. Cal Sutphin (Pfeiffer) started the rally for the Bulldogs with a single. An error then moved Sutphin from first to second. Brandon Harrison (WSSU)singled, scoring Sutphin. The Bulldogs then tacked on more runs when Swab scored on an error and Smith scored on a walk by Josh Clark (Wingate). Sutphin had four hits for the Bulldogs and Brandon Harrison added two more. Mooresville All Americans answered the Bulldogs’ top inning with four runs of its own in the third. Mooresville All Americans scored on a wild pitch, an RBI single by Dylan Begin, an RBI single by Nik Campero, and a wild pitch.

The Bulldogs seize victory thanks to late double, drop Mooresville All Americans

Wednesday, but the Bulldogs ended up on top with a 4-2 win in seven innings over
Mooresville All Americans.The Bulldogs finally managed to grab the lead after a
strong fourth inning. The Bulldogs scored on an RBI double by Robbie Swab off Parks
Smithey, plating Brandon Harrison.Macon Smith racked up two RBIs on three hits for
the Bulldogs. He singled in the first and third innings and doubled in the fourth
inning.Zack Joyce worked out of 13 difficult moments for the Bulldogs. He pitched 2
2/3 innings and allowed no earned runs on one hit. Joyce faced his most difficult
moment in the fifth inning.Brett Morgan got the win for the Bulldogs. He allowed two
runs over 4 1/3 innings. Morgan struck out five, walked six and gave up no hits.The
Bulldogs jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first. Harrisonsingled to
ignite the Bulldogs’ offense. Then moved Harrison from first to second. Smith
singled, scoring Harrison.Mooresville All Americans quickly matched the Bulldogs’
strong inning with a two-run inning of its own in the first. Mooresville All
Americans scored on a bases loaded walk by Morgan and a groundout by Billy Karalis. A
key fourth-inning rally gave the Bulldogs the lead for good. the Bulldogstacked on a
