North Carolina’s APR(Academic Progress Rate) scores take a hit in football and basketball and Heels rank below Duke and N.C. State in hoops

CHAPEL HILL — North Carolina’s men’s basketball and football teams rank at the bottom of the school’s men’s sports in the latest Academic Progress Rate (APR) scores that the NCAA released Wednesday.

UNC’s 2010-11 men’s basketball APR was 909, while the football team received an 895. According to the NCAA’s APR penalties, UNC will receive a public letter from the NCAA warning about the football team’s poor performance.
